🌿 Who’s Who? — Inspiring Women in Islam
✨ Can you guess who she is?
A queen whose wisdom is mentioned in the Qur’an.
A mother who placed her trust in Allah.
A woman whose faith remained unshaken before a tyrant.
A scholar from whom generations learned.
How many of their stories do you know?
🌙 Who’s Who? — Inspiring Women in Islam turns Islamic history into an engaging learning experience, helping children and adults discover remarkable women whose faith, knowledge, courage and character left their mark on our Deen.
Because learning Islamic history means learning their stories too.
🌸 Women are part of the story of Islam
The Qur’an itself preserves the stories of extraordinary women.
Allah tells us about Maryam (Mary) — and an entire surah bears her name.
He presents the wife of Pharaoh as an example for the believers:
“And Allah sets forth an example for those who believe: the wife of Pharaoh...”
Qur’an 66:11
And about Maryam, Allah says:
“Indeed, Allah has chosen you, purified you, and chosen you above the women of the worlds.”
Qur’an 3:42
The Qur’an also speaks explicitly of believing men and believing women, promising them forgiveness and a great reward:
“Surely the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men and believing women...”
Qur’an 33:35
Their faith mattered.
Their knowledge mattered.
Their courage mattered.
And their stories deserve to be learned. 🌿
🕌 The women around the Prophet ﷺ helped preserve our Deen
Women were not absent from the first generations of Islam.
They learned, taught, narrated, sacrificed, asked questions and transmitted knowledge.
ʿAishah رضي الله عنها became one of the great transmitters of knowledge from the Prophet ﷺ and narrated more than 2,000 hadiths.
The women of the Ansar were praised for seeking knowledge. ʿAishah رضي الله عنها said:
“How excellent are the women of the Ansar! Shyness did not prevent them from understanding the religion.”
Sahih Muslim
And when women told the Prophet ď·ş that the men were taking most of his teaching time, he appointed a day specifically to teach them.
Sahih al-Bukhari
📚 Seeking knowledge was part of their lives.
Now their stories can become part of our children’s learning too.
🎯 LEARN THROUGH PLAY
